Egypt: Incidents causing casualties in the constitutional referendum

There is a new Constitution on the political horizon of Egypt, but the word it is now up to more than 52 million voters called to vote in a referendum until Wednesday night. The process has been unfolding under heavy security measures, there is the record of clashes and incidents that caused at least 8 dead.

Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood are against the new Constitution. Despite strong opposition, some people think this is a good starting point. "If we want to change some articles in the Constitution can do it later, but in General, it is a good Constitution. Is not perfect, but nothing is perfect. It's a good start, "says a lady.

A man says he is optimistic about the conduct of the vote. "We think that everything will go well, people seem to be comfortable and a large number of voters are interested, even the elderly participate," says

The Constitution project was sponsored by the militants in power. Articles of religious nature introduced by deposed President, Mohammed Morsi, were removed. The power of the armed forces was further strengthened.

Some non-governmental organizations say there is a climate of fear.
