Israel prepares for funeral of Sharon

At the wailing wall in Jerusalem the Israeli flag floats at half-mast in honor of Ariel Sharon.

The Government announced that Sharon will have a State funeral with full honors.

This Sunday, the body of Sharon is in burning Chamber in Parliament, the Knesset, and on Monday, after a ceremony of tribute, will be transported to the family farm in the South of the country where the burial will take place.

The death of Ariel Sharon on Saturday sparked a wave of tributes.

"The people of Israel mourns the death of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Arik contributed to the security of the State, its defense. He did it because he believed that the Jewish people should be able to defend the country by their own means. Your memory will be forever cherished within the nation, "said Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu

The President and longtime ally, Shimon Peres, spoke with emotion about his friend. "He didn't know what it was fear, took tough decisions and implemented them with courage. From the beginning and throughout his life kept our friendship. I will miss you and remember forever, "said Shimon Peres.

According to Omri and Gilad Sharon, the former Prime Minister will be buried next to his wife.
