New rescue attempt in Antarctica

On Friday, the icebreakers Chinese ship that helped rescue the crew of a Russian scientific vessel Australian, saw himself trapped in the ice.

The expedition started from New Zealand to 28 November. The aim was to mark 100 years of the Australian Explorer Douglas Mawson's journey.

The Australian scientists were eventually rescued by helicopter and transported to another vessel.
