Second fire in two weeks gains momentum in Norway

Relief teams continue combating flames, but with great difficulty to control the advance of the fire. Even the weather has helped, given the lack of rain and snow since before Christmas and that by this time would be normal in that area on the planet.

The fire started at around 10:30 pm, local time, on Monday. But due to the dry vegetation and wind, the flames spread quickly and reached the Sornesset peninsula.

There's no record of victims, all people were evacuated in time to safe zones.

This is the second fire to hit Norway in the space of two weeks, after the fire which destroyed at least 30 wooden buildings in the historic village of Laerdalsoyry, in the South of the country.
