Seventy policemen wounded in Kiev

Long night of clashes, chaos and violence in Kiev ends with a hundred injured, including 70 policemen, and several vehicles set ablaze.

The rally on independence square, which brought together 200 thousand people, ended in the worst way. A group of more radical protesters tried to cross a police barrier to enter Parliament and the situation degenerated. An onslaught of violence rarely seen since the beginning of the protests. Four people were arrested.

President Viktor Yanukovych promised to create a Commission with representatives of the opposition to end the political crisis and put an end to the demonstrations, and a meeting this Monday.

The Euronews correspondent in Kiev says:

"The clashes lasted all night. Home-made bombs and stones were thrown by protesters more radical, this sector more radicalized protesters is far from calm down and continue to throw everything they can against the security forces. They may be the target of a massive assault in the next few hours. Also Monday, there is some expectation in the advancement of political negotiation and diplomatic activity ".
