USA continue to be hampered by cold polar

The polar vortex that hit the Eastern United States on Tuesday brought down by low temperature records recorded land for decades.

Thousands of flights have been cancelled, electricity prices have increased and the refuges for the homeless were overcrowded.

A record cold was beaten centenary in New York, in Central Park, with -15.5° C, exceeding by about one degree a record 14.4° C negative registered 118 years, January 7, 1896.

"You can't even walk. You can't sleep, you can't do anything. We're ready for summer. We're waiting for summer, "said a construction worker.

A historic cold wave hits the last few days a large part of the United States, from Minnesota, in the North, Georgia to the Southeast.

In Atlanta, usually with a mild climate, the temperature dropped to 14 degrees, the lowest over the past 44 years.

The agency that manages the power grid that supplies the most affected regions are struggling to meet demand, since due to the cold some power plants have stopped working.
