Karachi: thousands of Pakistanis support the army's fight against the Taliban

The demonstration, called by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, occurred on the same day that the Pakistani aviation returned to carry out air raids on Taliban positions near the border with Afghanistan.

According to Government sources, at least 38 insurgents, including some leaders, were dead.

This is the third Pakistani armed forces ' intervention in a few days, in the tribal areas along the Afghan border, after peace negotiations had been interrupted last week.

The dialogue seems increasingly compromised. The Taliban, Sunni radicals, informed the Government that there is little chance of peace while the country does not change policy and legal system and not adopting Islamic law.
