Ukraine: Parliament head of State departs

The Ukrainian Parliament approved today, the dismissal of the head of State and has scheduled presidential elections anticipated for May 25.

The head of British diplomacy has hailed the "extraordinary progress" in Ukraine and said to be available to support a new Government and unlock financial aid from the IMF.

The Ukrainian opposition leader Iulia Timochenko, sentenced to seven years in prison in 2011 by abuse of power was, however, released.

Viktor Yanukovych will have tried, however, catch a plane destined for Russia, but have been prevented by airport authorities.
