Crimea: Barack Obama speaks of more sanctions against Russia

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, said that Russia must withdraw troops stationed along the border with Ukraine and negotiate with the international community.

On Tuesday the President of the Security Council of the Ukrainian Andrii Parubii said that Russia maintains 100 thousand troops along the border with the Ukraine, far above the 20 million estimated by the Pentagon.

"I hit the Russian economy hard, due to the actions of Putin. If conditions persist, there will be more painful consequences for Russia that will lead to their isolation, diplomatic, economic and military from the rest of the world. Some measures are already on the table, "said Marie Harf, spokesman for the u.s. State Department.

However Vladimir Putin hailed Russian armed forces for acting in the Crimea, asserting that showed the new capabilities of the Russian army.

"The recent events in Crimea were a real examination and have demonstrated the quality of the new capabilities of our military, as well as its high morality", stressed Putin.

With this Declaration Moscow confirms for the first time, the direct involvement of the Russian army into the control of the Ukrainian peninsula.

This Friday the Russian Minister of Defense stated that the warships, combat aircraft and other military material seized in Ukraine will be returned, which will prevent a potentially expensive legal battle with Kiev in international courts of arbitration.
