Greek Parliament approves new package of measures

The vote has been temporarily halted because the main opposition left-wing SYRIZA party, tabled a motion of censure against Finance Minister Yannis Sturnaras.

The approval of the law was considered a necessary condition for the disbursement of the next rescue slices.

The new rules also provides for new cuts in pensions, this time in pension funds.

The rejection of much of society these measures was reflected in two major demonstrations in Athens.

The protests have gathered about 8,000 people in the center of Athens and outside Parliament.
