New wave of immigration in Ceuta and Melilla

In Melilla, about 200 people, in search of a life in Europe, have broken through the barrier of six metres and went to the reception centre where people are only 480 seats 1800.

The Spanish enclaves in North Africa, only land frontier between the European Union and the African continent, have been targeted in the biggest offensive of recent years. Episodes that sometimes end in tragedy, as in February, when police fired rubber bullets on a group that tried to circumvent the barrier by sea. Fifteen people drowned.

After this episode, the Spanish authorities are prevented from using rubber bullets or any kind of riot control equipment to prevent new border crossings.
