Egypt: reports of irregularities in the registration of candidatures

The submission of applications began on Monday and each need to collect signatures of 25,000 voters to be validated.

The former head of the armed forces, Abdel Fatah al-Sissi, is seen as the clear favorite of the ballot, scheduled for 26 and 27 May.

The team leader's left Hamdeen Sabbahi, regarded as the only serious opponent al-Sissi, complained of difficulties in registering subscriptions in favor of its candidate.
