Netherlands: Wilders concedes defeat unexpectedly

The Dutch decided to penalise the populist Freedom Party's anti-euro brigades, considered Favorites in pre-election polls.

Contrary to expectations, the formation of Wilders got the fourth place, behind the Christian Democrats, Centrists and Liberals.

The leader of the xenophobic formation did not hide the deceção. After thanking supporters, Wilders claimed that fought "like lions", but "honestly, polls at the mouth of the polls are dececionantes. We should not complicate things: although they are still only projections, are a disappointment, because it indicates that [the Party] will go from 5 to 3 seats in the European Parliament.

The Netherlands noted, as in 2009, a weak participation of around 37 percent of the electorate.

The definitive confirmation of the bad result of formation of Wilders will only be made at the end of the day Sunday, when they announced the official results of the Twenty-Eight.
