Russia respects the result of referendums in Ukraine

"We respect the will of the people of Donetsk and Lugansk and move on from the fact that a practical implementation of the outcome of the vote will occur in a peaceful manner without more violence, through dialogue between representatives from Kiev, Donetsk and Lugansk," he said.

The President Vladimir Putin, who had distanced of the referendums to ask for a postponement of the popular consultations, didn't react over the outcome of elections that took place at a time when Ukraine is on the brink of civil war.
