Ukraine: bloody day in Mariupol raises concerns

The day was party to the former Soviet republics, who celebrated this Friday the 69 years since the liberation from nazi occupation and the end of World War II. But in the South of Ukraine the celebration didn't deserve a truce and there have been bloody clashes between military and rebel Ukrainian separatists.

At least 20 dead was the balance sheet released by the Ukrainian Interior Minister, Arsen Avakov, speaking on his own Facebook page about the operation carried out in Mariupol. The Ukrainian military intervened in that coastal town to regain control of the main police station, which had been taken by an armed group, which claimed to be composed of Avakov "about 60 men armed with automatic weapons.
