Ukraine: negotiations have not silenced weapons

On Saturday, in the vicinity of Sloviansk, the gunfire and explosions continued to be heard, as well as in Izyum, Kharkiv region and in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. No information on casualties from either side of the conflict.

For the second straight day, Government of Kiev, regional deputies and economic agents of Ukraine sat at the negotiating table in Kharkiv under the auspices of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

While the interim Prime Minister, Arseny Iatseniuk, reaffirmed that it will negotiate with gunmen, the OSCE called on separatists holed up in administrative buildings in Donetsk and Luhansk to lay down their arms and join the dialogue.
