Ukraine: Yatseniuk says that attempts to destabilise President are doomed to failure

Less than a week of the presidential elections in Ukraine, continue to register sporadic clashes between the army and armed rebels in the breakaway regions of Lugansk and Donetsk.

Since the beginning of the military operation to regain control of the East of the country, 13 of April, there have been 130 deaths.

The Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, says "first, we must elect a President legally. Then, let's make sure everyone has the same opportunities to participate in the electoral process. Any attempt by terrorists in Donetsk and Lugansk to destroy Ukrainian elections is doomed to failure ".

However, the Government recognized that in municipalities, as rebels Slaviansk, Kramatorsk, Gorlovka, voters will have little chance of going to the polls, since the separatists currently control pró-russos several polling stations.

A resident of Slaviansk, which supports the separatists, says "was organized a referendum [independence], but Kiev does not recognize the vote".

To try to counteract the boycott promoted by the separatists, the Ukrainian Government announced the creation of special operating groups to ensure order and the election process of the day 25 in the regions where are expected provocations.
