Heavy fighting along the border with Russia

Heavy fighting with automatic rifles, bazookas and grenade launcher on the border of Ukraine with Russia pró-russos paramilitaries attacked a border post in the early hours of Monday and the clashes lasted all day.

Border guards claimed the attack, waiting in vain for reinforcements. Only Government aviation has reached some rebel positions.

The fighting took place near the region of Luhansk. According to the border service, 5 rebels died and several guards were injured.

According to the insurgent forces, cited by Russian news agencies, the Ukrainian plane shot at a regional government building in Luhansk, where at least five people died and several were injured.

Kiev denied the airstrike and declared with the explosion was due to the improper handling of arms and explosive substances.
