Libya: low participation in parliamentary elections

It is hoped that this electoral act put an end to instability that exists since the end of the regime of Muammar Gaddafi.

In Benghazi, the second city of the country, at least three soldiers were killed during an attack by Islamist militia.

This town, where in a 2012 assault on the u.s. Consulate, has been under strain since a former rebel commander in may launched an offensive against a powerful Islamist group, leading to the accession of several military units.

In recent weeks, Libya has been living a political crisis, with the exercise of the Executive power held by two groups, facing a clash between Islamists and Liberals and violence raging in the East.

The first results are expected on Friday or Saturday.
