Israel says "Yes" to a ceasefire

The decision was taken during an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, in Tel Aviv.

The proposal provides for the cessation of hostilities in Gaza and the re-opening of borders has already been rejected by al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

The Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip provoked within one week about 180 dead. Among the victims are several women and children.

Hamas says the cease-fire, but with conditions. Since then, the end of the Gaza blockade imposed by Israel in 2006. A condition that promises to lay down any chance of dialogue.
