Earthquake in China causes more than 380 dead

Recent figures from the Chinese authorities also refer to about two thousand injured and more than 40,000 homes damaged or totally destroyed.

More than 7,000 people, including 5,000 soldiers, are engaged in search and rescue operations.

The earthquake occurred at 16:30 locations in the northeast of Yunnan province, with the epicenter located at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

The mountainous region between the provinces of Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou, is difficult to access and have noted severe episodes in recent decades seismic.
