Floods cause more than 400 dead in India and Pakistan

The armed forces had to rescue thousands of people trapped by the waters.

The death toll has risen to more than 400 yesterday, Tuesday, with thousands of people still stranded on rooftops.

Along the heavily militarised line of control that divides the Himalayan region between India and Pakistan, in the city of Srinagar more than 2,000 people are trapped.

Many victims complained that there was no rescue boats sent since last three days and were trapped without food, water and first aid.

In the District of Rajouri, medical camps were set up and stepped up relief operations.
