The American Secretary of Defense presents, this Wednesday, the detailed plan of operations. Barack Obama has promised that there will be no American troops on the ground but, according to general Martin Dempsey, the situation might evolve:

For the American Secretary of defence, Chuck Hegel, the international coalition's mission does not end in the destruction of the Islamic State, even if only with air strikes resolves:

"This will not be easy nor a brief effort. It's very complicated. We at war with EIIL as we are with al qaeda. But destroying EIIL requires much more than military efforts. Requires progress in the region and support on the ground in Iraq and in Syria ".

The Syrian territory, where the jihadists are strongly present, will also be the target of attacks in the United States air force. Obama ruled out any coordination with the Damascus regime.

The Iraqi national security adviser was to Damascus Bashar al Assad informed of the evolving situation and talking about the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
