Turkey: tension with Kurdish refugees increases

Turkish security forces have used tear gas to disperse the Kurdish civilians who joined near the border with Syria.

The clashes happened in the refugee camp of Sanliurfa, Turkish side, near the town of Kobani Syria, which is under attack by the forces of the radical group Islamic State.

Turkish tanks remain concentrated in this border area, with cannons pointed at Syria.

Already several times projectiles of conflict in the neighboring country have fallen into Turkish territory. A ratchet fell into a house in a border village in Turkey, and made five injured.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to fight the self-styled Islamic State, but at the same time says that the fight is only effective if the regime of Bashar el-Assad in Syria, is also tackled.

The Turkey is going through a wave of Kurdish refugees, caused by this new conflict. The country lives already for several years a problem with Kurdish separatism, represented by the PKK.
