UN asks Ankara to avoid massacre in Kobani

The new United Nations Envoy to Syria said that at least 500 civilians are trapped in Syria Kurdish town of Kobani, on the border with Turkey, besieged by the Group Islamic State.

Staffan de Mistura in Geneva calls on the authorities in Ankara to save Kobani a "massacre".

"We would like to appeal to the Turkish authorities, in order to allow the flow of, at least, volunteers with their own equipment in order to provide support in the city in self-defense operations."

Kobani was left to their fate. The attacks of the jihadists have made 200 000 refugees and more than 500 dead.

On Friday, the militants of the Group Islamic State also bombed a border crossing with Turkey in an attempt to take the post and isolate the city.

In Turkey the Kurds demonstrating against the Ankara Government policy, but the President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan has no intentions of listening to the international community.

Kurdish discontent in Turkey caused scenes of violence with the miltares, and a result of 31 dead and 360 injured.
