Esplanade of the Giza pyramids will reopen to the public

The pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx were built more than 4.5 thousand years and the works to replace cracked blocks lasted about 4.

"It's the first time the Esplanade will open to the public, after restoration of the body of the Sphinx. The neck and the left side have been restored. Simultaneously, we opened, also for the first time, kept something Temple II ", announced el-Damaty.

The Minister also announced the reopening of the pyramid of Menkaure. The smallest of the three pyramids of Giza has been in the works for three years.

The site attracts millions of tourists every year. However, the tourist frequentation dwindled after the popular revolution of 2011 and the political instability that followed.
