Hong Kong: New Dawn clash between police and demonstrators

After a face-to-face that lasted several hours, hundreds of riot police charged on demonstrators in an attempt to disperse them.

The authorities resorted to tear gas and pepper spray. There were several arrests.

This is the third consecutive night of clashes in the Mong Kok District on Wednesday after students protest camp there two months ago have been removed. Two student leaders were arrested.

This Friday, Amnesty International urged the police contention after these two student leaders have accused the police of having beaten.

Several journalists have also been assaulted. The Hong Kong Journalists Association filed a complaint and will hold a demonstration.
