Palestinian Authority calls on the UN Security Council after clashes on the Esplanade of the mosques

This Wednesday, young Palestinians were involved in clashes with police near the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which have made at least 20 injured. In an act almost unheard of, various elements of the security forces have entered the scene.

Mahmud Al-Habbash, Palestinian Presidency's Adviser for religious affairs, stressed that "it's the first time since 1967 that Israeli military invade Al-Aqsa Mosque, stepping with your shoes on the mosque carpets. This represents a harbinger for a religious war ".

The clashes broke out with the closing of the Esplanade of the mosques, allowing the visit of a group of ultra-Orthodox Jews, who claim the right to pray at the site, also venerated by Jews as the Temple Mount.

The Jordan, Member of the UN Security Council, will present a complaint against what it described as "aggressions of Israel".
