Group Islamic State loses battle of Deir el-Zour in Eastern Syria

The base, near the town of Deir el-Zour, was used by the Syrian Government in previous months to launch airstrikes to regions controlled by the djiadistas on the border with Iraq.

The Organization has trying to capture this base and a neighbor known as 137 Brigade headquarters with the objective of eliminating the main focus of resistance in the region.

Since Thursday, 119 fighters of the two fields were killed, including 51 soldiers and members of pro-Government militias.

Of the 68 members of the Group Islamic State killed three were French citizens.
