France: "I am Ahmed"

As the men who killed him, Ahmed was French of Algerian origin and Muslim. The brother spoke to the media on Saturday.

"It was a Frenchman of Algerian origin and Muslim confession, proud to call Ahmed Merabet, to represent the French police and to defend the values of the Republic: liberty, equality and fraternity. I turn now to all racist, anti-Semitic and islamófobos: you can't mix the extremists and Muslims. Crazy people don't have color or religion. I have to point out something else: no longer make amalgams, starting wars, set fire to mosques or synagogues because it doesn't attack people and brings back our dead and did not abate the families, "said Malek Merabet.

According to the brother, Ahmed was about to leave the operations on the ground. It was a policeman, respected by colleagues and since his father died 20 years ago tried to take care of the whole family, the one who now mourns his death.
