Nairobi: police attack children in protest

The police fired lacrimógeneo gas on protesters at elementary school Langata when hundreds of students tried to tear down a fence around the Park.

Four adults were arrested for protest against what they called an "illegal seizure of land by local authorities who want to tansformar the school playground space in the parking lot.

At least eight children were hospitalized for exposure to tear gas and other injuries.

An inquiry was opened to investigate possible abuse of force by the police.
