Athens warns: "austerity is not rule"

Once the Assembly constituted with the oath ceremony of the parliamentarians should soon begin the process of electing the next President of the Republic.

In his speech before deputies Prime Minister attacked the austerity. "Let's respect the EU rule for preliminary balanced budgets, but let's clear to everyone: Austerity is not a rule, nor is it part of the founding principles of the EU."

Twenty Orthodox priests began the formalities, fulfilling the Greek parliamentary traditions.

The six members of the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn who are in custody, including the leader Nikolaos Mijaloliakos, received permission to attend the swearing in session.

"This was only a ceremonial occasion for the new Greek Parliament. The troubles are about to begin for the new members as they may be called upon to take some of the most crucial decisions in the recent history of the country ".
