Germanwings: Copilot was sick the day of the tragedy

The Copilot to have crashed the plane intentionally of Germanwings in the French Alps was supposed to be on medical leave on the day of the tragedy and hid the fact from the airline.

The information is advanced by the prosecution of Düsseldorf, in Germany, after having been carried out searches at the home of Andreas Lubitz's and copilot's parents ' residence.

The medical certificate was found, torn, during the search. Researchers failed to disclose the nature of the disease.

The information comes after the German newspaper Bild have revealed that Lubitz's been treated, in 2009, following a strong episode of depression. At the time, the co-pilot was even forced to stop training, coming to be declared "unfit".
