City of Odense: the exception to the rule

Drug use and unemployment are often at the source of the problem.

In 2013, the country had about 6 thousand, which represents an increase of more than 16 percent compared to 2009 the number of people out of work and money to pay an income

A trend that the city of Odense, Denmark's third largest, was able to counter.

"Obviously, one of the prerequisites is to achieve a comfortable and accessible and to ensure that drug traffickers do not live side by side. This strategy has been successful in Odense "means Tom RØnning, municipal consultant.

The results achieved in this town about 185 thousand inhabitants have left no one indifferent. The municipality organised a Conference to share the experience and reveal the secret of success. Social workers from eight countries attended the meeting.

The monitoring and policy of insertion is applauded by homeless

"I used drugs during 19 years, but I don't want to ruin my life. It's time to stop, "says Jimmy Schramm.
