Indonesia prepares to execute 9 drug traffickers

Among the convicts are an Indonesian, two Australians, a filipina, three Nigerians, one Ghanaian and Brazilian Rodrigo Gularte.

The Filipino woman's lawyer, Edre u. Olia, questioning "How could anyone, in good conscience, can take the life of another person, knowing that there are doubts about his innocence." The lawyer doesn't understand the rush and questions whether one would not "wait a little longer".

The prisoners were transported to the island of Nusakambangan maximum security prison, where they will be executed by a firing squad.

Out of this batch of executions was the Frenchman Serge Atlaoui, of 51 years. The Frenchman is on "death row" in Indonesia for drug trafficking and was excluded from this wave of executions by having still pending a legal recourse.

The Indonesia has one of the most severe anti-drug laws in the world.
