Erdogan in favour of any coalition formula

The justice and Development Party (AKP) will have to decide whether to proceed to a coalition with the opposition or attempt to govern alone with minority support.

After a two-hour meeting with Erdogan, Deniz Baykal, one of the most experienced politicians in the country, leader until 2010 of the main opposition party (Republican people's Party-CHP), considered that the head of State understands the importance of forming a Government.

"I believe that Turkey must overcome this period of uncertainty as soon as possible, and I have seen that the President shares this view," said Baykal, adding that Erdogan "is open to all coalition solutions", including "a Government of opposition".

However, the advantage of Selahattin Demirtas HDP pro-Kurdish paper accused the Government of inaction in the face of what he considered attempts to push the country to civil war, fomenting violence in the mainly Kurdish region in the southeast of the country.

Four people were killed since Tuesday and two others injured, in the city of Diyarbakir, bringing to seven the number of wounded.
