Russia denies financial aid to Greece

The Russia does not provide any financial assistance to Greece, at least for now. This is what was said on the sidelines of the Summit of the BRIC group of emerging economies Brazil, Russia, consisting of India, China and South Africa.

But the subject, even if indirectly, does not cease to be on the table: "aid for Greece is not a theme at this Summit and is not being discussed. What is being discussed is the situation in the Eurozone, caused by the Greek debt problem. This situation has consequences for the Eurozone pose a risk for all participants at the Summit, "said the Russian Minister of Economics, Alexei Ulyukaiev.

The BRICS Summit is taking place in the Russian city of Ufa. Vladimir Putin and the Chinese President Xi Jinping have met. The meeting is not just of the BRICS, but also of the Shanghai Pact, which joins Russia, China and several Central Asian republics ex-soviéticas.

It's a chance for Putin to find and strengthen support from the emerging countries. The Russian President is increasingly isolated by the Western community, due to Russian policy in Ukraine.

The annexation of Crimea resulted in the expulsion of Russia from the Group of eight most industrialised countries in the world, the G8, now again reduced to G7.

Another important appointment of Putin's Summit with the President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff. The BRICS countries represent one-fifth of production and 40% of the world's population.
