Islamic State beheads former Antiquities of Palmyra

The information has been advanced by the current holder of the Office and the group spread, via the internet, images of the headless body of Khaled al-Assad, hanging from a pole. Responsible for the historical heritage of Palmyra during more than five decades, al-Assad had 82 years and was retired since 2002.

The claim of the Act, the Islamic State accused the archaeologist to be loyal to the Syrian regime, to represent the country at conferences abroad, alongside what sorts of "infidels".
