Many areas of the country remain isolated and predicted a "significant" increase in the number of victims, as rescue personnel will able to access the sites affected, warned the Office for the coordination of Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations in its most recent report.

On the West side of the Bay of Bengal, in India, lives a similar chaos. In the region of Kolkata, the cyclonic storm Komen gained momentum, after also having made havoc in neighbouring Bangladesh.
