Congo says Yes to 7 more years of Nguesso in power

Sassou Nguesso has ruled the oil-producing country in 31 of the last 36 years. With the amendment to the Constitution the President of 71 years can apply for next year's elections and get 7 more years in power.

The opposition boycotted the referendum on Sunday and its leader claims that should be cancelled due to low participation. Several journalists report that the Congolese appear to have boycotted the referendum, but the official numbers as a participation of more than 72%.
