Putin rejects collective accountability in doping case

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke for the first time in public about the doping scandal revealed earlier this week by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

According to the report, the network of doping is widespread in athletics and has the endorsement of the State itself.

Putin ordered an investigation and calls for accountability is individual. Proved against the possibility of the Russian teams being excluded from major competitions: "responsibility must be customized. It is a rule that must be universal. Athletes who never played in the doping should not pay for those who violated the rules, "said the Russian President.

The report says that this organized scheme entailed several athletes present in the London Olympics in 2012. Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko,, responded with irony, to say that anti-doping tests in the last Olympic Games, should be defective, if failed to detect doping allegedly used by the Russians. The track team of Russia can be excluded from the next Olympic Games.
