Refugees: Sweden restores border controls

In the face of criticism that the measure goes against the policy of openness of the country, a spokesman for the Swedish border guard says "they can request asylum directly on the border. Restore the checks does not affect the right of asylum in Sweden. It just means that they should do it at the border and then register in the Migration agency ".

Despite the winter cold and the arrival soon of permanent night, the Arctic border between Russia and Norway have witnessed an increasing number of refugees from Syria and Afghanistan in particular, obliged to find bikes to change country, since the passage on foot is prohibited.

An Afghan says he decided to try to Norway because he saw that "there are good cities and aid for school and everything else."

Since the beginning of the year, about 4000 migrants chose the Arctic route to Norway, a country which, although not belonging to the European Union, is part of the Schengen area.
