Russia declares economic war to Turkey

The retaliatory measures may include suspension of joint economic projects, restrictions on financial and commercial transactions and changes to customs duties. The announcement was made by the Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev.

"The Government was instructed to define a system of measures of response to this Act of aggression in economic and humanitarian spheres.

The sectors of tourism and transport will also be targeted, as well as labour market and "humanitarian contacts".

These measures may also endanger the ongoing construction of the first Turkish nuclear plant in Akkuyu (South) and bury the TurkStream pipeline project, which Moscow wanted to do to take Russian gas to southern Europe.
