France: regional elections test the popularity of the extreme right after bombings

A test of the President's Socialist Party, Francois Hollande, who is in third place in the polls, with about 22 to 23 percent of intentions to vote.

The National Front Party, Marine Le Pen could for the first time control of six of the thirteen French regions, when it is almost tied with the right of the Republicans of Nicolas Sarkozy, both ahead in the polls, with 27 to 30% of the voting intentions.

The last before 2017 presidential elections should also be marked by a high abstention of around 50%.

Three weeks after the bombings of Paris, the extreme right seems to be the only party in progress. The Socialists had appealed unsuccessfully to the formation of coalitions of central block against the national front.

The polling stations will close from the local 6:00 pm and 2 hours later in big cities.
