Iraqi army claims control over Ramadi

Ramadi is again under control of Iraqi forces.

The news was put forward by Iraq's military sources who claim to have regained former Government facilities in the city, capital of the province of Anbar.

The military however did not rule out the possibility of the existence of pockets of resistance in the locality.

Ramadi is located 90 kilometers west of Baghdad and since May that is under the control of the extremist group Islamic State.

Since the beginning of November that the Iraqi forces are trying to regain control over the city.
