Pro-Kurdish paper leader calls for "honorable resistance" against military offensive in southern Turkey

Hundreds of protesters were involved Friday in clashes with police in Diarbakir, after they were prevented from carrying out a protest in full State of emergency.

At the base of the revolt is the intervention launched six days ago by the army in several residential areas of the cities of Bezabde and Girikoma.

Officially at least 3000 militants of the armed group were killed by the army since the end of the unilateral ceasefire the PKK, in July.

Sources on the ground speak of at least 130 civilians killed during operations of the Turkish army, intensified after the victory of President Erdogan in the elections.
