Died Guido Westerwelle

Westerwelle had recently published a book where he spoke of the disease.

Former leader of the FDP, the German liberal party, was head of diplomacy and Vice Chancellor Angela Merkel between 2009 and 2013, during the second Government of Chancellor.

Westerwelle became leader of the liberal party in 2001, having staked so to extend the base of support for the party.

The Liberals have achieved 15% of the votes in the elections of 2009 and joined the coalition with the CDU Angela Merkel. Westerwelle took over so the head of German diplomacy.
