Pakistan: Nawaz Sharif declares war on terrorism

"I am here to reiterate our determination in the fight against terrorism"

At least 50 people have been detained in Pakistan suspected of being involved in the bombing in Lahore against the Christian community.

The attack claimed by the Taliban caused 72 dead and more than 300 wounded.

In a message broadcast on national television, the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, has pledged to put an end to the terrorism:

"I am here to reiterate our determination in the fight against terrorism until it is eliminated from our society. In the last three years, the Government and security ag encies have reduced the terrorist activities. We will continue on that path despite recent attacks. "

Since December 2014 have been killed more than 500 people in terrorist attacks in the country. The most recent was perpetrated by a 28-year-old Pakistani from Punjab province.

In Pakistan, Christians represent about 2% of the population composed of 200 million people, mostly Muslims.
