USA: Detained alleged author of the shooting at the Capitol
The man was shot and wounded by police and a woman was injured, not seriously, in the crossfire.Access to the building, which serves as headquarters to the Senate and the House of Representatives, have been blocked immediately after registering gunshots in the area.The injured were sent to the hospital.According to the police, this was an isolated act and criminal with no evidence of links to terrorism.The Capitol was virtually empty due to the Easter holidays.Due to this incident, the W hite House was closed for a few moments, following the Security Protocol.According to official sources, normalcy returned to the American capital.Per USCP, shelter in place has been lifted and the Capitol is open for official business only.
