Brazil: Dilma Roussef makes a last-ditch effort to stop the request for dismissal

The brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff, has canceled this Saturday, a date with social movements to meet with parliamentary leaders, in a final effort to stop the request for impeachment in the House of representatives.

In a video posted on the internet, rousseff called on supporters.

"The complaint against me, under review in Congress, is nothing but a fraud; the biggest legal and political fraud of the history of our country. Without it the impeachment even be voted. The Brazil and democracy do not deserve such a farce. I ask all Brazilians who don't be fooled, "declared the President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, in the video posted.

Dilma tries to, well, ge t the votes needed to stop the dismissal in Sunday's vote in the Chamber of Deputies.

To the process of impeachment of the President be approved and move on to the Senate, you need the votes of at least 342 of the 513 deputies.

To file the request, the Government needs the support of 172 members, between votes and abstentions fouls.

The request for dismissal of the charge is based on the so-called "tax cycling", illegal acts resulting from the advance authorization of funds to banks for the coffers of the Government to improve the result of public accounts.

If the request for ' impeachment ' is approved, the Vice President, Michel Temer, wil l assume the post on an interim basis.
